Drills
Drills are what we call practice and instruction sessions. No sign-ups necessary. Any member is invited to join us. Drills will be cancelled if it rains.
Juniors should be prepared with the following items:
tennis or court shoes (smooth soled, not knobby like running shoes)
tennis racket
water
sun screen
Sunday Drills Dates for 2025

To give our developing players who may not benefit just from our tournament offerings, HJTC's amazing pool of volunteers are offering Orange and Green Ball Drills when possible throughout the year.
Yellow Ball Drills are offered in the months of August through December.
Currently there are no scheduled drills; please check back and look for email announcements when we add more dates!

Match Play
Match Play
Match Play includes participants playing match-type games.
Players need to be able to serve, maintain a baseline to baseline rally, and keep score. If your child is able to do ALL three things, encourage them to participate in Match Play. Please contact hilojrtennis@gmail.com if your child is interested.
On scheduled Match Play days, court time will offered to everyone to green dot and yellow ball players who can attend. We will do our best to help match levels of play and have supervision for those hours.

Location: EKS outdoor courts
*We are not requiring sign-ups; please try to arrive by 2pm so we can try to match levels for the best experience. The duration of match play will depend on the numbers of players.

Tournaments
The Hilo Junior Tennis Club sponsors tournaments each year to enable all of our club members to play in tournaments and experience competitive play.
Tournament Information
To enter, players must be members of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Membership dues are modest. To enroll, please go to USTA - Membership
Players are also encouraged to play in tournaments statewide.
